Trouble with your university email or Google login

Your @paruluniversity.ac.in email and password are managed by the university IT team (Systems Support Cell), not by PU Hangouts. You can reset, unlock, or change it yourself in a few minutes.

Reset password

Use this when you cannot remember your current password.

    Open the portal

    Go to the self-service portal and click "Forgot your password?" below the login box.

    Enter your login ID

    Type your PC Login ID or Internet Login ID in the Username box. Keep the account type as PC LOGIN / INTERNET LOGIN, then click Continue.

    Prove your identity

    Pick how you want the verification code, by Email (to your registered email) or SMS (to your registered mobile), then click Continue.

    Select your email, then get the code

    If you chose email, open the drop-down, select your masked email address, and click Continue.

    Enter the verification code

    Type the code you received, then click Continue. Tick "Trust this browser" only on your own device (trusted browsers stay trusted for 180 days).

    Choose the account to reset

    Open the Select Account(s) drop-down and tick the account you want, either PC Login / Internet Login or your G-Suite (email) account.

    Set a new password

    Enter your new password, re-enter it to confirm (follow the password rules below), and click Reset Password.

  8. ✓

    Done

    Password reset successful for the selected account.

Password rules

Your new password must meet all of these.

  • check_circleAt least 6 characters long
  • check_circleStarts with a letter (upper or lower case)
  • check_circleAt least 1 uppercase letter
  • check_circleAt least 1 lowercase letter
  • check_circleAt least 1 number
  • check_circleAt least 1 special character
  • check_circleNot a palindrome
  • check_circleNo character repeated more than twice in a row
  • check_circleNo 5 characters in a row taken from your username
  • check_circleNo restricted patterns
Tip: if your password is at least 20 characters long, the complexity rules can be ignored.

Still locked out of your university account?

This is a university IT matter (managed by the Systems Support Cell), so PU Hangouts cannot reset it for you. If the self-service portal does not work, reach your campus IT help desk. Once you can sign into your Google account, come back and use Sign in with Google.
